Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Beginning the Transition for Our 2026 Prep Students

We are delighted to be welcoming our 2026 Prep students through our Little Joeys transition program. Over five weeks, children take part in five engaging sessions designed to gently introduce them to school life. Our Little Joeys have already completed three sessions, with two more to come, and it has been wonderful to see their growing confidence and excitement each week.

So far, the children have enjoyed participating in a phonics session to build early literacy awareness, play-based maths activities that encourage curiosity and problem solving, and engaging religious education experiences underpinned by the Catholic Social teachings. These sessions provide a balance of play and learning, helping children become familiar with their new environment, routines, and the friendly faces of their peers, teachers, and Prep staff.

Parents have also been warmly welcomed as partners in this journey. Through introductions to school leaders, families have gained valuable insight into the programs, values, and supports that underpin our approach to learning and wellbeing.

Transition experiences like Little Joeys are vital in supporting children’s wellbeing. When students feel secure, connected, and confident in their new environment, they are more likely to approach school with enthusiasm and readiness to learn. These early opportunities to form friendships, explore the classroom, and experience success build a strong foundation for a positive start to school life.

We warmly welcome all our new families to our school community and look forward to sharing the remaining sessions as our Little Joeys continue to grow into confident and curious Preps for 2026.
