Equestrian

Congratulations Finley (and Duncan)!

The Hamilton and Alexandra College community extends its warmest congratulations to Finley Hiscock and his horse, Duncan, on receiving this prestigious Equestrian Victoria award.

This award honours an individual who embodies the core values of Equestrian Victoria—where the horse is not just a partner in sport, but a cherished companion.

Equestrian Victoria: This special award recognises an individual who demonstrates exceptional commitment to horses — both in performance and within the wider equestrian community. Finley exemplifies the spirit of Equestrian Victoria, showing inclusivity, respect, and a deep connection with his horses, prioritising welfare, care, and trust above all else.

Finley’s dedication, discipline, and genuine care for Duncan are a shining example of these values in action, and we could not be prouder of this extraordinary achievement.

We also want to extend a warm congratulations to our Equestrian Community member and regular guest instructor, Jason Dins, on his Coach of the Year award for Dressage.

Exciting Developments at the Equestrian Centre

It has also been a milestone week for our own College Equestrian Centre, with construction of the new indoor arena progressing rapidly.

Signage was installed earlier this week, and preparations for installing kickboards are set to begin in the coming days. This new facility will provide an outstanding year-round training environment for our riders.

Training with a Champion

Adding to the excitement, our riders recently enjoyed a special clinic hosted at the College Equestrian Centre with super coach and former national coach Paul Williams. The sessions were both inspiring and practical, providing students with expert guidance to refine their technique and build confidence.

We look forward to sharing photos from this memorable clinic and continuing to celebrate the achievements of our riders as the equestrian program at College grows from strength to strength.
