Next Friday, 5 September, we will host our annual Father’s Day Breakfast. Students are encouraged to wear their favourite footy colours and enjoy the company of fathers from ELC to Year 6, from 8.20 am onwards.
RSVPs are due today, Thursday. This will greatly assist us with catering for a large group.
Please note that there will be egg and bacon rolls for our wonderful Myrniong Dads and special people, as well as sausages in bread for the students.
The Learmonth House Service will be held on Monday, 1 September, at the Uniting Church at 10.15 am. The theme for the service is Optimism. All ELC and Junior School parents are welcome to attend.

Book Week:
During book week, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) announces book of the year in several categories. Every year junior school classes can read the shortlisted books for the Picture Book and Early Childhood book categories and then vote on the book that they think should be the winner. We then compare this to the judges’ vote.
Again, this year the results proved mixed – with some students in agreeance with the judges decision and others voting quite differently for the book they deemed worthy of winning the prestigious title of “book of the year”
Here are the student voting results:
