A message from the Principal
Come along to our Teaching and Learning information evening - tonight!
At SKiPPS we are incredibly proud of the way our teaching and learning is evolving. Over the past 12 months, you will no doubt have noticed some fairly significant changes in the way we approach teaching across the school. These shifts are guided by the latest research into how children learn best, and they are already having a positive impact in our classrooms.
To give our parent community a closer look at what this means in practice, we warmly invite all parents and carers to an Information Evening tonight from 6:00–7:00pm in the School Library
This session will be a chance to step inside the classroom with us. You’ll hear a little more about what we mean when we talk about the Science of Learning and how this underpins our work. We will also explore the concept of Explicit Instruction—what it looks like, why it is effective, and how it is helping our students to succeed.
Importantly, this won’t just be theory. You will see (and maybe get to experience) real examples of the kind of lessons our students experience each day, including:
A Mathematics lesson
Whether you’re new to SKiPPS or a long-standing member of our community, this evening is designed to provide you with a clear picture of our evidence-based approach and how it supports every child to grow and achieve.
We would love to see as many parents and carers there as possible. Please take a moment to register your interest using the link below—this will help us prepare resources and ensure the session is useful and practical for everyone.
I look forward to welcoming many of you on the night, sharing the thinking behind our work, and most importantly, showing you the powerful learning that is taking place at SKiPPS every day.
