Leadership Communication

My Lord and My God

Dear Families,

We’ve reached the midpoint of Term 3, and there is much to celebrate in the vibrant teaching and learning taking place across our school. This term has become our unofficial “Term of Weeks”, with National Action Week (Anti-Bullying), Science Week, Book Week, and Child Protection Week all occurring within just a few short weeks. Each of these events provides a valuable opportunity for our teachers to spotlight important themes, inspire curiosity, and deepen student learning in ways that connect classroom experiences with the wider world. The enthusiasm and engagement shown by our students during these special weeks has been a highlight of the term so far.

On Monday 18th August, our school will come alive with colour, creativity, and a love of reading as we celebrate the many characters and texts that have sparked imaginations for generations.  From timeless classics to modern favourites, these stories have transported readers to far-off worlds, taught important life lessons, and inspired countless adventures in young minds. Please join us for our annual parade on the basketball courts @ 9am on Monday.

Students are encouraged to come dressed as a beloved character from a book, graphic novel, or other text that has captured their imagination. Throughout the week, classes will take part in activities designed to explore and share the joy of storytelling, whether through read-aloud sessions, creative writing challenges, or lively discussions about favourite books.

This celebration is not just about costumes, it’s about recognising the power of stories to shape who we are, connect us with others, and spark a lifelong love of reading. We can’t wait to see the creativity our students (and their families) bring to the day!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
