Winter Sleepout

Last week, our Year 11 students and staff swapped warm beds for cardboard and sleeping bags as part of the Trinity Winter Sleepout. Together, they shared a simple meal and experienced just a glimpse of what it might feel like to be without a safe place to sleep.
Each night, thousands of Australians are forced to sleep in cars, tents or out in the open. This event not only raised awareness of homelessness but also reminded our students of the power they have to create positive change in their communities.
A huge thank you to Rev’d Emily Payne for joining us and sharing her insights, and to our incredible staff – Mitch Meller, Casey Meller, Sam Merkel, Melissa Foster and Beth Yarker – for guiding our students and braving the night alongside them.
We’re proud of our Year 11 students who contributed through a food drive and gold coin donations, with proceeds supporting Carevan and Albury Wodonga Regional Food Share.
And a very special thank you to our generous local businesses for donating food and helping make this night possible:
- Arnolds Wodonga
- Bakers Delight Lavington
- Locky’s Countryside Meats
- Border Markets
Together, we showed that even small actions can make a big difference.
