Middle Sub School News

Amelia Frantz - Middle Sub School Leader
Dear families and carers,
Many exciting opportunities have occurred in weeks five and six. Students have been busy counting tickets and announcing PBS winners, following instructions and making beef sliders, learning about using technology safely, looking after the garden, practicing movement skills in PE and much more. Canine Comprehension on Tuesdays has continued to be a wonderful opportunity for students to develop social and emotional skills with Victor the dog. Some of the Middle students have been involved in the playground buddies program with OT Kevin. This is a great opportunity for students to develop social and interaction skills whilst having lots of fun.
SSGs have concluded and we are thankful for the input from all involved. This afternoon IEP goals will be sent to parents via Xuno. Please let myself or the classroom teacher know if you would like support to access these goals.
All remaining excursions to We Rock the Spectrum have been postponed. I will share updates about off-site sub-school excursions as soon as I am able.
The Middle sub-school performance is on Tuesday 16 September @13:30-14:30 in the Yaluk gym. Families are invited to come along. We look forward to sharing our performance piece with you.
House Colours Day Run is on Thursday 18 September @ 11:00-11:30. Families are invited to come along. Students are welcome to wear a white tee shirt or the school tee shirt. If possible, it is always good to have a spare tee shirt for this event.
Looking ahead, in Term four we encourage all students to wear their hat. We also have sunscreen available and encourage all students to wear it when outside. Strategies such as practicing wearing a hat ahead of time and applying sunscreen may assist your child to do these in the hotter months. If you would like support with sourcing a hat or other items of school clothing, please let me know. Students can bring in their own sunscreen if you prefer. It is a good idea to label clothing and any other items a child brings to school. That way, we can return it as soon as we can.
Please reach out to me anytime,
Amelia
ROOM 13
Room 13 has been thriving in Term 3! We've been busy exploring a wide range of engaging activities—from Cooking and Gardening to online English and Maths sessions. Our weekly Library visits, time in the OT Room, and adventures with Mini Woollies have kept us learning and growing. We've also enjoyed PE, Music, Science, Personal and Social Capabilities, and our exciting We Rock the Spectrum excursions.
Wishing everyone a joyful and successful finish to Term 3!
With love from: Carter, Ivy, Joyce, Maddison, Nivan, Tarkyn, Yousef, Zayd, Alexie, Reetu, and Shirley 😊
