Week 3 Greeting

What a lovely week it's been with the slightly warmer weather giving us a much-needed preview of spring! It's certainly lifted everyone's spirits, and the school grounds have been filled with smiling faces enjoying the sunshine. Inside the classrooms and hallways, the buzz of excitement continues to build as students rehearse for our upcoming school production. With the performance date fast approaching, there’s a fantastic sense of collaboration in the air. Students from different year levels have been working together during cross-grade rehearsals, and our dedicated teachers are doing a wonderful job coordinating across timetables to ensure that every student is supported and confident in their role. We can’t wait to see their hard work come to life on stage!

今週に入り、少し暖かみを帯びた日が春の予感を運んできてくれましたね。皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。校内では、スクールプロダクションに向けてのリハーサルも終盤に入ってまいりました。クラス内の練習だけではなく、上級生や他クラスとの練習も回数を増してきています。本番前に生徒たちが少しでも自信を持つことができるように、時間割を組み替えてリハーサルの場を作ることができるよう、先生たちが頑張ってくれています。本番のパフォーマンスを見るのがとても楽しみですね。

Policy Updates

We would like to inform you that on Tuesday 5 August, School Council approved updates to two important policies: the Electronic Funds Management Policy and the Student Dress Code Policy. While the Student Dress Code Policy was initially approved last term, this latest update introduces a small but welcome change—allowing students more flexibility with head wear such as headbands and scrunchies. These updates reflect our commitment to both practical policy and student comfort. As always, the most current versions of all school policies are available on our school website. 先日のスクールカウンシルの会議で、Electronic Funds Management PolicyとStudent Dress Code Policyの更新が認定されました。Student Dress Code Policyはすでに先学期に認定され、施行されておりますが、今回のさらなる更新は、髪飾りに関するルールの微調整を反映したものです。上記リンクよりご確認ください。

Hats

A reminder to all families that from Friday 15 August, students will be required to wear hats during outdoor activities as part of our Sun Protection Policy. This follows the updated guidelines introduced last term, which adjusted the mandated hat-wearing period. Please ensure your child’s hat is clearly labelled and brought to school each day to support our efforts in keeping all students sun safe.　 先学期にSun Protection Policyが更新された際、帽子を被らなければならない期間に変更がありました。それを受け、８月１５日より全生徒は、休み時間を含む屋外のアクティビティの際に帽子をかぶる必要があります。来週の金曜日にお子様が帽子を持って来れるように、準備をお願い致します。

Snapshots from our Classroom

Finally, a quick snapshot from our Visual Arts classroom! This week, students have been working on a fun and imaginative project—designing their own cardboard cactus! It’s been a joy to see the creative ideas blooming, with each student coming up with their own unique design. I’ve seen colourful spikes, wild shapes, and even a few with funny faces. I can’t wait to see how they all turn out once they’re finished.今回の教室からの風景は、ビジュアルアートの授業風景です。子供達は厚紙で作るサボテンのデザインを考えていました。生徒一人一人違う形のサボテンをデザインしていました。完成したサボテンを見るのがとても楽しみですね！
