School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) – Our Behaviour Matrix in Action
Guided by Our School Values: Growth and Striving | Equity and Integrity | Care and Respect
Over the past year, teachers, education support staff, wellbeing leaders, school leadership, and our students have worked together to develop a clear and consistent way to promote positive behaviour across our school.
This collaboration has resulted in our School Behaviour Matrix, which outlines how students can demonstrate our school values in every part of the school and beyond.
💬 Our School Values
Our Behaviour Matrix reflects the values that guide us every day:
🌱 Growth and Striving
We make learning our focus and strive for academic excellence
⚖️ Equity and Integrity
We treat everybody fairly and make sure everyone is included.
💛 Care and Respect
We support one another and value each person’s contribution and rights.
📍Expectations Across All School and Community Spaces
The Behaviour Matrix clearly defines positive behaviour in these areas:
🔎 Learning Spaces
Staying focused, participating actively, and working towards personal bests.
💻 Technology & Digital Spaces
Using devices safely and respectfully, being responsible digital citizens.
🏛️ Shared Spaces (e.g. corridors, library, toilets)
Moving safely, respecting others’ space, and caring for our environment.
🌏 Community & Home
Demonstrating fairness, respect, and kindness outside of school and at home.
✅ Students’ Involvement & Ongoing Learning
Students had direct input in shaping the Behaviour Matrix and have already been introduced to it through lessons about School-Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB). You may have noticed reminders and information displayed on the TV screens around the school.
The matrix was then shared with staff for feedback and trialed in real school settings.
This process helped us refine the tool and now we’re excited to officially publish and embed it across the school.
📊 Looking Ahead – Progress Reports
We are also adapting our progress reports to include references to SWPB, so that we can better recognise and communicate your child’s efforts and progress with positive behaviours alongside their academic achievements.
🤝 Thank You for Your Support
We value your ongoing support and partnership in encouraging these positive behaviours at home.
