COWS CREATE CAREERS

YEAR 10 APPLIED AND VET SCIENCE

The excitement is growing amongst the Year 10 Applied and VET Science students as our Cows Create Careers (CCC) unit is about to begin. 

Through practical experience and classroom learning, students gain valuable insights into animal husbandry, dairy production, and the wide range of careers in the agriculture industry, including veterinary science, agribusiness, and food technology.

As part of this program our students have two calves to care for over a three-week period, developing both technical and transferable skills by caring for a calf, conducting some data collection on growth rates, and working on curriculum-aligned projects, all while interacting with passionate industry advocates who showcase the many career possibilities in dairy. 

Last week construction of the calf pen was completed, and this week, our new calves arrived. Stay tuned for updates.
