THE VILLAGE

The Village: Supporting Student Wellbeing Together

At KSC, we’re always looking for ways to make sure our students feel supported and connected. The Village is where we share what’s happening in the wellbeing space and how we can work together to help our young people thrive.

This week, we’re welcoming a new face to our wellbeing team, checking in on how our mobile phone expectations are going, and giving you a little sneak peek at something exciting our students have been working on behind the scenes…

Meet Our New Mental Health Practitioner

Elle
Elle

We’re excited to welcome Elle to the wellbeing team as our new Mental Health Practitioner.

Elle will be working with students who might want a bit of extra support—whether that’s around managing stress, building confidence, or just having someone to talk things through with. She’ll also be running small group sessions and linking families with services in the community when needed.

It’s great to have another friendly face in the wellbeing space, and we’re looking forward to seeing the difference Elle will make for our students.

Phones Down, Heads Up

We’ve been really impressed with how our students have responded to the focus on mobile phone use this semester.

It’s been great to see more face-to-face conversations, more active breaks, and more focus in class. These small changes are making a big difference to the vibe around the school, and it’s something we’re proud to see continuing. Students should be proud of their effort in this space.

What’s Coming Next

Something exciting has been taking shape in the background… our students have been hard at work designing our brand-new Behaviour Matrix, built around the values We are respectful, We are resilient, We are kind, and We try our best.

We won’t give too much away just yet, but the designs are looking fantastic—and in the next edition of The Village we’ll reveal them to the whole community. Keep an eye out, because this is going to be a big part of how we celebrate and encourage positive behaviour at KSC.
