Dear Kildare Community,
As Term 3 continues, we are preparing to bid a fond farewell to our wonderful Year 12 students. The last day of formal schooling marks a significant moment in their lives - the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and shared experiences. To mark this significant rite of passage, we have already commenced the celebrations, including our annual Year 12 Games Night and a Farewell Mass and Dinner for our Year 12 Mount Erin Boarders. We are all looking forward to celebrating our Graduation Dinner with the Year 12 Class of 2025, which is being held on the evening of Friday 26 September at The Range Function Centre.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 12 students. They are a warm and cohesive group of young men and women who exemplify our College values of faith, learning, care and justice. They are excellent role models for the younger students and will be missed by the whole College community.
Year 12 Celebrations
On Tuesday this week we held our Year 12 Games night. This was a great opportunity for the entire cohort to come together and have some fun, after the completion of their Trial HSC Exams. The night was filled with laughter and friendly competition, and the dress up theme resulted in some outstanding outfits as you can see in the pictures featured below.
On Wednesday evening, we celebrated the Mount Erin Boarding Year 12 Farewell Mass and Dinner. Bishop Mark Edwards and Father Grace celebrated Mass in honour of our Year 12 Boarders. We were joined by their parents and families, fellow boarders, and the College Leadership Team. Following Mass, we enjoyed a meal together at the Gardens Restaurant. This was a very special occasion where parents, boarding staff and school leaders were able to reflect, with immense pride, on the confident, independent and compassionate young adults these students have become.
In and amongst the celebrations, Year 12 students are continuing to focus on their studies and apply feedback from their Trial HSC Exams. Teachers will continue to support students with their preparation for HSC Exams, which commence on Thursday 16 October.
Day in the Diocese
Next Friday 5 September, the Catholic Diocese of Wagga is celebrating the Jubilee Year of Hope with a ‘Day in the Diocese’. A number of staff and students will represent our College at the event, which will be an opportunity to join with Bishop Mark, priests and other staff to engage in a range of workshops including art, music and scripture, and to be empowered to be hope-filled disciples in the world today. The day will finish with a Mass at St Michael’s Cathedral at 2pm. Parents and carers are welcome to join us for this Thanksgiving Mass.
