Friday School Assembly  

Each Friday, different classes will take turns in leading Friday assembly. Classes will also be sharing what has been happening in their class. 

  • Week 5 - Guwak 
  • Week 6 - Banya 
  • Week 7 - Wirrap 
  • Week 8 – Duan & Mumumburra 
  • Week 9 - Djulin

 

On Friday, students from Balam-balam presented at assembly. Ashton opened the assembly with the Acknowledgment of Country and Amy led everyone in the Hail Mary. The students then shared about their favourite parts of their excursion on the Bendigo Talking Tram, looking at the city's landmarks the previous day. Seeing Mr Darmody was definitely a favourite part of the day! Some students took the opportunity to share their narrative writing stories that they have been working on this term. Mrs Cardinal and Mrs Holland were so proud of the courage shown by our amazing Balam-balam students.

Book Fair

Thank you to everyone for your great support for with our Scholastic book fair.

Due to your support and generosity, we were able to get 40 new books for our library. We look forward in celebrating Book Week this week. Dress up day on Wednesday 20th and blurbs at 2pm.

St Peter’s Excursion to the Bendigo Competitions 

On Thursday, August 7th the children from the St Peter’s Choir travelled to Ulumbarra Theatre to perform in the Bendigo Competitions. They sang 3 songs: ‘Life To The Full’ (the St Peter’s School Song), ‘I Wanna Sing’ and ‘I Want to Be Happy’. The choir placed 2nd, with everyone getting a silver ribbon. In addition, they won the first ever trophy for the choir with the most spirit! Everyone was very excited.

Junior Unit Excursion

On 14th August the Junior Unit explored Bendigo by travelling on the Vintage Talking Tram as part of our Inquiry focus for the term "Why is Bendigo a special place to live, learn and play?".  The junior unit departed from the tramways and traveled through Bendigo toward the Joss House observing Bendigo's landmarks, stopping at Lake Weeroona to have a snack and play at the playground before returning back to school.
