Online Safety Workshop
Year 9 students participated in an Online Safety and Anti-Bullying Workshop supported by the Sub School Team, Victoria Police, Kingston Youth Services and our onsite Mental Health Practitioner.
The workshop delivered clear messaging that bullying is never okay and that help is always available. Students welcomed the Victoria Police Proactive Policing Team, who provided guidance on understanding the law, ethical and moral responsibilities, and how to stay safe online. Kingston Youth Services distributed a “Help is Here” card to all students, while teachers facilitated classroom activities focusing on kindness, support, and gratitude.
At this sad and challenging time and for Victoria Police we are especially grateful for their continued support for our students. Our community extends to their community our sympathies and appreciation for their service.
Ms Wintle also echoed the powerful messages shared by our school captains: that at MGSC we treat others with respect, kindness, and love.
Bon Voyage, Allegra!
This week, we waved goodbye to Allegra R as she headed to France for a three -month exchange program. This incredible opportunity will allow Allegra to experience French culture, improve her language skills, and immerse herself in life abroad. We are looking forward to hearing all about her experiences.
Year 9s start planning for Year 10 Work Experience
18 - 22nd May 2026
Year 10 students partcipate in a Work Experience Week. It's a a feature and key element in career and pathways planning at MGSC. Year 9 students now is a great time to start thinking about it. The best work experience spots can fill up quickly, so being organised early means you’ll have more choice and less stress later on.
Work experience is a great chance to try out a job you’re interested in, learn new skills, build confidence, and add something impressive to your resume. Start by talking to your family, friends, or teachers about what kind of jobs you might like.
Lateness to School Reminder
A reminder to all Middle School students about our lateness procedures. If a student is late to school three times in a term without explanation, they will receive a before-school community service.
To avoid this:
- Make sure you are organised and arrive on time each day.
- If you are late, your parent or carer must log an explanation on Compass by lunchtime.
If this isn’t possible and you have a valid reason, you must speak to your Student Manager by the end of lunchtime on the same day.
Being on time helps everyone start the day positively, thank you for your cooperation
