Senior School Leader Announcement

At today's assembly, we inducted our new senior leadership team for the next 12 months. All students in Year 11 were given the opportunity to stand for a School Captain and Vice Captain position.  I congratulate every student who prepared and delivered a short speech to the school last week. You all spoke very well and you all are fantastic candidates for these positions. The students who did not receive a position today will become presidents of our senior Student Representative Council (SRC).

School Captains:  Eloise Oxley and Hannah Khan

School Vice Captains:  Sarah Canning and Jack Young

State Knockouts in Dubbo

Last week, our senior students participated in the state touch and netball knockouts in Dubbo bringing back two silver awards!  The feedback from students, staff and parents is so positive highlighting the exceptional behaviour of our students and the commitment from our staff to prepare and support our students to compete at this level.  Thank you to everyone involved.

Sentral Access For Parents

All families will receive a letter this week outlining information to download an app called "Sentral" which will give parents access to a range of options for their children at Uralla Central School. Submitting absences, reports, student timetables will be some of the features to begin with.  Later in the year, we will release further information about how to complete payments and sign permission notes electronically.  If you need any help in installing the "Sentral" app, please call into the school office.

Rural and Remote Meeting at UCS

Last Tuesday, our school hosted the Term 3 Department of Education Rural, Regional and Remote meeting in the library.  Nearly 40 representatives from across NSW assembled at our school to attend their meeting. Thank you to Katie Hunt and her kindergarten class for performing the acknowledgement of country and to Jodie Taylor and her hospitality class for catering for the event.  It was such a great day to showcase our K-12 school.

Claiming the Date - Teddy Bears Picnic and Grandparents Day

We will hold a teddy bears picnic and grandparents day on Friday 31 October (Week 3 Term 4).  This will involve all students in K-6 and our secondary students will deliver and run activities and cater for the event.  Please mark this date in your calendars.

NAIDOC Week Events

Our planned events for NAIDOC Week had to change at the last minute due to the wet and windy weather.  We had organised to hold lots of events, all outside, with our partner schools also coming along, but as the weather forecast wasn't ideal, we had to change our plans.  Our assembly ran to plan, thank you Dixie and Mr Williams for organising such enriching events for our students.

State Athletics

I wish David and Johnathan Kpayah all the best as they travel to Sydney this week for the state athletics carnival.  Well done on reaching such a  high level.

Long Service Leave -Good Luck Year 12

I will be taking long service leave for the next two weeks as my family and I will be travelling away. Dan Williams will relieve as Principal during my absence.  I will unfortunately be absent for the Year 12 Farewell assembly so I would like to take this time to wish our Year 12 students the very best as they prepare for their HSC exams.  I will be there to wish them well for their first exam next term and also for their formal in November.

Have a great fortnight!
