Sport Soccer Innovation
Year 5 and 6
The Soccer Sports Innovation Program in Term 2 will provide Year 5 and 6 students with an exciting opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of the game. Throughout the term, students will take part in a variety of drills, challenges, and match scenarios designed to enhance their dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and goalkeeping abilities. They will also explore key tactical concepts, including positioning, movement off the ball, and effective team formations. A strong focus will be placed on teamwork and sportsmanship, with students encouraged to communicate clearly, support their teammates, and show respect for all players. Beyond technical skills, they will refine their decision-making under pressure and develop a strategic mindset to apply in competitive play. By the end of the term, students will have expanded their skill set, gained experience in different roles, and improved their confidence on the field. The program will also help build fitness, agility, and a deeper appreciation for the game. We are excited for a fun and active innovation program, where students can embrace new challenges, work collaboratively, and enjoy the spirit of soccer.

Art
Year 5
This term in Innovation, Year 5 students will be developing their drawing skills through a new project focused on technique and cultural exploration. They will learn and practise a range of drawing techniques including blending, hatching, and cross-hatching to create texture, depth, and tone. Students will also build their understanding of tonal variation by working with highlights, mid-tones, and shadows. After exploring these techniques through focused exercises, they will apply their skills to a final artwork inspired by the theme Then vs Now. This theme invites students to investigate and interpret how life has changed across different cultures, places, and time periods. The project encourages observation, creative thinking, and expression as students create artworks that reflect their own interpretations and ideas.

This project encourages creativity, technical skill, and reflection as students express themselves through the beautiful and versatile medium of watercolour.
