Year 7 News

Welcome Back

We welcome back all of our wonderful Year 7 students for term 2. Year 7 teachers hope all students had a chance to wind down, have a break and even ate a few Easter eggs. This term has plenty going on and students are always encouraged to keep an eye out on their SEQTA notices for any opportunities that may interest them.

2026 Year 7 Information Night

Last night, staff hosted an information night for the incoming 2026 Year 7 students. We would like to thank Ms Deayton, Mrs Wright and Mr Price for their roles in organising the night. A very big thank you and shout out to Ranger Uebergang, Luella Burke and Maddison Lawes for their participation in a Q & A session during the night. 

Hats

A quick reminder that students are not required to wear a hat when out in the yard during terms 2 and 3, however, they are encouraged to do so. Students are encouraged to keep their hat in a safe place because they will need them again in term 4.

Values

We wanted to congratulate the following two students who received the most values in Term 1. Kira Clark received 23 values awards in Term 1, and Chayse Burns received 17 values awards. This is an amazing effort and we are very proud of how these two students have settled into Year 7 at Horsham College. 

Class Spotlight – 7G Science

In Mr Dacre’s science class, 7G have been learning about vertebrates and invertebrates. Students undertook a specimen observation and created a vertebrate class table and Kingdom presentation.
