Welcome Back & Staffing Update
We are very excited to welcome students and staff back to school this term. We hope that you have all enjoyed your holidays and had some time to spend with your family and friends. We look forward to a productive term.
We also have some staffing updates; we have farewelled Miss Kate Lancaster (in-class support) and Mr David Kenny (Science) in recent weeks as they take on different opportunities outside of school. We do welcome Mrs Barbara Kemp, Miss Vivian Tran and Ms Sammi Fischer to the College.
ANZAC Day
We commemorated ANZAC Day with a whole school Anzac Service on Monday which was led by our student leaders. Students and staff were able to pay their respects with a minute of silence for our fallen service men and women. We are so proud of all students that represented Horsham College in a variety of ANZAC services on the day. Lest We Forget.
Grade 6 Information Evening
Wednesday the 30th was Horsham College’s annual Grade 6 Information Evening. It was a fantastic evening, and the quality of the displays and presentations made me even prouder to work and be a part of Horsham College. Thank you to all the staff who assisted either in setting up, attending or presenting on the evening. Thank you to the Year 7 Team, led by Mr Liam Price (Assistant Principal), Mrs Jessica Wright (Year 7 Leading Teacher), Mr Cam Bruce and Miss Belle Healey (Year 7 Coordinators) and to Ms Heather Deayton, our Transition Coordinator. I must also thank the parents, guardians and students who attended. As mentioned on the night, I encourage you all to take a tour of the school when classes are running, to help you to make that decision of ‘which school.’ If you are unable to attend a scheduled tour, please contact our administration office on 5381 7100 to arrange another time.
Uniform
As we head into Term 2 and the colder months, a reminder to all students and families that only Horsham College uniform should be worn at school. We will continue to follow up with students and their families to ensure all students are wearing the Horsham College Council approved uniform.
We are focused on ensuring students are wearing:
Black shoes
College Council approved jackets and or jumpers
College approved long sleeve tops
College approved hats/beanies
We understand that there may be short periods of time when a student is out of uniform. Please provide a signed note in the diary for these short periods of time.
