Learning Conversations

A friendly reminder that Learning Conversations are coming up soon on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th of May.

These conversations are an excellent opportunity for you to sit down with your child’s teacher and discuss their progress in greater depth. As mentioned during our recent Mathematics Information Evening, our updated 2025 school reports will offer a clear snapshot of each child's development, particularly in Mathematics. However, a Learning Conversation allows for a much richer and more personalised discussion, helping you gain valuable insights into your child’s learning, strengths, and next steps.

We strongly encourage all families to book a time to meet with their child’s teacher.

Details on how to book your Learning Conversation can be found below. It will be made available, or "opened", at 5pm Friday 15th May.

Mathematics Information Evening

On Wednesday 14 May, we welcomed families from across our school community to our Mathematics Information Evening. This event was designed to provide valuable insight into the significant changes accompanying our full transition to the Victorian Curriculum 2.0

Since mid-2023, our teaching staff have engaged in professional learning to build deep familiarity with the new curriculum, including both the major and minor shifts from Version 1.0. This has ensured that we are well-prepared to deliver a Mathematics program that reflects the revised curriculum across all year levels.

During the evening, we also shared how we have been integrating key principles from the Science of Learning into our daily Mathematics lessons. This includes structured daily reviews, targeted fluency tasks, and an explicit teaching model designed to support all learners. To provide a hands-on experience, parents took part in one of our familiar classroom routines using mini whiteboards, giving them a sense of the strategies and engagement techniques we use in the classroom to build students’ mathematical understanding.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the families who attended and for the enthusiasm and curiosity they brought to the session. We greatly value the strong partnerships we share with our parent community, and events like these highlight the power of working together to support student learning. For those unable to attend, we have information flyers available at the front office, outlining practical ideas for supporting mathematical learning at home.
