Boarding Update

Celebrating National Boarding Week

As the Heads of Girls and Boys Boarding, we are thrilled to announce our exciting plans for National Boarding Week, which runs from May 11 to 16. This week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the unique and vibrant community that boarding creates, and to recognise the contributions of our dedicated staff and students.

National Boarding Week, organised by the Australian Boarding Schools Association, aims to highlight the benefits and positive experiences of boarding life. It is a time to showcase the sense of family, support, and camaraderie that boarding schools foster. At Kinross Wolaroi, we are proud to be part of this tradition and are pleased to share our planned activities for the week.

Planned Activities:

Sunday 11 May - Staff Appreciation Card Writing

We will kick off the week by writing appreciation cards for our incredible staff. This is a chance for our students to express their gratitude for the hard work and dedication of those who support them every day.

Monday 12 May - Whole Boarding Photo

On Monday, we will gather all boarders for a whole boarding photo. This will be a memorable moment to capture the unity and spirit of our boarding community.

Tuesday 13 May - Appreciation Cards and Cakes Handed Out

On Tuesday, we will distribute the appreciation cards and cakes to our staff. In the evening, we will host a special dinner where school staff are invited to join the boarders. This will be followed by tours of the boarding houses, giving staff a glimpse into the daily lives of our boarders.

Wednesday 14 May - Boarding Assembly and Day Student vs Boarder Relay

Wednesday will feature a special Boarding Assembly, celebrating the achievements and experiences of our boarders. In the afternoon, we will have a fun and friendly relay race between day students and boarders, fostering a sense of community and healthy competition.

Thursday 15 May - PLC vs Wolaroi Site Charity Netball Game

On Thursday, we will have a charity netball game between PLC and Wolaroi Site. This event will not only be a great sporting contest but also an opportunity for our boarders to raise funds for a worthy cause.

Friday 16 May - Bushman's Relay and Tractor Pull

We will conclude the week with the Bushman's Relay and Tractor Pull, two exciting and challenging events that will test the strength and teamwork of our boarders and day students. These activities are sure to be a highlight of the week, bringing everyone together for some fun and friendly competition.

We are looking forward to a fantastic National Boarding Week filled with activities that celebrate the spirit of our boarding community. Thank you to everyone who makes our boarding experience so special. Let's make this week one to remember!

Warm regards,
