I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the recent ANZAC Day march and ceremony in Orange. Our students looked immaculate and served as outstanding ambassadors for our school, with both the Junior School and Senior School well represented on the day.
During the holiday break, many staff and students were involved in various activities, including the National Age Swimming Championships, Easter Rugby Camp, and the Visual Arts Italy Tour. I am deeply grateful to our staff who dedicated their holiday time to provide these tremendous opportunities for our students.
Term 2 is a lovely time of year in Orange with the season change, and it is particularly busy with our winter sports season. Home sports games allow us to welcome many families to the school during the term, creating a great atmosphere and fostering community spirit.
As we embark on Term 2, I encourage all students to embrace the opportunities and challenges that come their way. Engaging in new activities and stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of your strengths and interests. As Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." By taking on new challenges, you not only build resilience but also discover new passions and talents.
It's important to remember that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. Whether it's participating in a new sport, joining a club, engaging in service opportunity, or taking on a leadership role, these experiences can shape your character and prepare you for future endeavours. Embrace the journey, and don't be afraid to make mistakes along the way – they are often our greatest teachers.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, I send my warmest wishes to all the wonderful mothers and significant others in our community. May your day be filled with love, joy, and well-deserved recognition.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the historic amalgamation of Kinross School (formerly PLC) and Wolaroi College in 1975. This significant milestone is a testament to our rich history and the strong foundation upon which our school is built.
Celebrating our history is important as it reminds us of the journey we have taken and the values that continue to guide us. It is a time to reflect on our achievements and to honour the legacy of those who have contributed to our school's success. We encourage parents and friends to support the Gala celebrating this occasion. Information has been sent out by the P&F, and we look forward to seeing you there.
