Principals Message

As we embrace the vibrant spirit of our school, it is essential to take a moment to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students and staff. We have witnessed tremendous success across various fields, and it is with great pride that we acknowledge these accomplishments.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to Mr. Shady and our dedicated Agriculture students for their outstanding performance with the Angora Goats at the Royal Easter Show! Their hard work, commitment, and passion were evident as they showcased their skills and knowledge, bringing home accolades that reflect their exceptional efforts. This achievement not only highlights the talents of our students but also underscores the importance of agricultural education in our curriculum.
We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to the students who represented the Riverina in AFL and emerged as state champions! Congratulations to Ross Durnan, Judd Powell, Nate Briggs, Archer Quinn, Emmett Smith and Jed Scott. Their teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship were exemplary, and they have made our school community incredibly proud. This achievement is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.
Additionally, we celebrate the students who competed in the school cross country carnival. Their endurance and spirit shone brightly as they raced to achieve personal bests and support one another. It is inspiring to see our students push their limits and strive for excellence, embodying the true essence of sportsmanship. Congratulations to Gillenbah as the winning house. Thank you to Mr Chappell and his team for their work in organising this event. We look forward to students showing the same enthusiasm for the Athletics Carnival next week.
This week I attended the Rural and South West Principal’s Conference in Sydney. I was asked to present to a workshop to principals attending the conference where I shared some of the outstanding programs that staff at Narrandera High School facilitate to improve the educational, social and wellbeing outcomes of students. I spoke about the Intervention Centre and all the fantastic work done by Mrs Lucas and Ami and Effie Williams, Janaya Smith, Brooke Ingram and Brayden Ingram in the Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre. These programs, in conjunction with the Aboriginal Education Officers (Joy O’Hara and Braden Lyons) and the Clontarf Academy (John Ingram and Gary Ingram) support students to strive to do their best in a supportive environment. I am grateful for the dedication of all these staff members, for their cooperative nature and for their desire to continually support all students.
As a school community, we take immense pride in the accomplishments of our students and staff. Their successes not only enrich our school but also inspire their peers and contribute to a culture of excellence.
