Performing Arts Highlight!
Year 5/6 Choir Workshop
Our Year 5/6 Choir Program participated in an amazing Choir Workshop facilitated by the Australian School of Performing Arts on Thursday, May 1st. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to have a professional expert come and teach new singing skills.
Students participated in collaborative and exciting drama games to help develop their stage presence, as well as explored new vocal techniques to gain more confidence when singing. Some students were even chosen to lead the class and run the show!
Our students were very grateful for the experience, providing positive feedback to Anna regarding how energetic and engaging she made the workshop. Here are a few photos from the workshop and thoughts from our students.
Choir Captain - Rhythm 6A
“Hello, it’s Rhythm from 6C here! On week 2, Thursday, we got to attend a Choir Workshop. It’s when a lovely teacher from ASPA came to our school to tell us tips and tricks to help improve our singing skills and our synchronisation. It was a very fun and joyful experience and I wish we could redo this workshop once again.”
Choir Captain - Samyra 6D
“The workshop was an amazing experience. This is something that helps a lot with others' confidence and motivation. Everyone was so active and joyful. The warm-ups she taught were so helpful. Anna was so great. She was so happy, it made the whole room spark. This taught me a lot and really helped the song we learnt.”
Choir Captain - Sukhleen 6D
“I think the workshop was amazing! The workshop had a person come to our school and she was really nice and sweet. Her name was Anna and she was really energetic just like our Choir teacher, Emily. She taught us really good tips for singing and we tried out new warm-ups. Overall, this was a great experience and I would definitely love to have the workshop again!”
