1/2C Bursts into Term 2

We have had a busy start to Term 2 in 1/2C! We are fully into the swing of things, working hard together and learning lots of new things. Here are some of the things we have been up to so far this term.

Anzac Day

ANZAC Day is a special day when we remember the brave soldiers who fought in wars.

We learnt about the importance of ANZAC Day and took part in a whole school liturgy.

We commemorated and honoured those who served and sacrificed for our country.

We made poppies and wrote about what we had learnt about ANZAC Day.

Maths - Place Value

For the last few weeks in maths, we have been learning about place value. We've explored the value of each digit in a number, how to break numbers into parts (partitioning), and how to find 1, 10, and 100 more or less than a given number. We enjoy learning through hands-on activities, using materials, and working with our friends to build our understanding.

Writing

In writing we have been learning about the conjunctions ‘because’, ‘but’ and ‘so’. These conjunctions help us to connect two ideas together, expand on simple sentences and make our writing more interesting.
