Term 2 Week 4
Celebrating First Eucharist Journey
The First Eucharist is a cherished milestone for Catholic students at St Leonard's and in the Catholic tradition. Our Grade 4 students have joyfully embarked on this special journey. Their preparation began with a meaningful First Eucharist Commitment Mass on Sunday 4th May, then the Eucharist Family Workshop on Tuesday evening. Our dedicated Grade 3/4 teachers and families came together for an engaging and enriching night of learning, exploring their faith, the significance of the Eucharist and discovering ways to nurture their faith as a family.
We eagerly anticipate continuing this spiritual journey with our students throughout May in our 3/4 RE classes, culminating in their First Communion on 25th May at 12:00pm. All members of our school community are warmly invited to share in this significant occasion.
Valuing Family Partnership in Student Growth
We deeply appreciate the vital role that families play in the ongoing development of our
students. From the everyday support with homework and reading to reinforcing our online safety messages, your involvement is invaluable.
We extend our sincere thanks to the parents who are participating in the informative "Empower and Inform Community Webinar" with Martin & Carley McGauran this evening (7.30pm - 9.00pm) . Our students also benefited greatly from Martin & Carley's insights during their own webinar on Wednesday, further developing their understanding of online safety and the importance of balance in their digital lives. If you wish to take part, it's not too late to register - please refer to the Raising Kids in a Digital World section of this newsletter for registration details.
Building on essential cyber safety concepts, this term our students have focused on achieving a healthy balance in their screen time/green time and learning strategies to navigate challenging online interactions, even those involving friends.
Sweet Success for "Sweet Treats"
A huge thank you to our wonderful families for their delicious contributions to the "Sweet Treats" PFA initiative each Friday! Your generosity and enthusiasm have made it a resounding success. We're excited to continue this tasty fundraiser throughout the term!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

One of our previous students is raising funds for The Smith Family. Please consider donating to help her reach her fundraising goal.
I'm Mia Ludowyke and I am taking part in The Dream Run to help Australian kids in need achieve their dreams. In the month of June I will be walking 100kms to raise funds for The Smith Family to help children in need get the most out of their education. 1 in 6 Australian children are living in poverty and don’t have equal access to an education. With your help, we can support these kids so they can dream BIG and create a better future for themselves. Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to change the lives of Australian children living in poverty. All donations count and are greatly appreciated!
