Reconciliation at Ivanhoe Grammar School

A Message From The School
Dear Ivanhoe Community,
As part of our ongoing journey of listening, learning, and walking together in the spirit of reconciliation, we are making an important update to our school email signatures.
Until now, our email signatures featured the artwork of Kamilya White, originally created when she was approached by Xavier Naish (’19), a student at the time, to design a piece for the School’s involvement in the AGSV Reconciliation Round. This artwork was later adopted more broadly across the School, including in our digital communications.
In the time since, our understanding of our responsibilities in this space has deepened. In particular, we have recognised the importance of using visual representations that reflect the Country on which all of our campuses are located — Wurundjeri Country.
To this end, we engaged Wurundjeri artist and current Ivanhoe Grammar School parent, Coree Thorpe, to create a commissioned artwork for the School. Coree’s piece reflects a traditional Wurundjeri style, characterised by tessellation patterns and strong visual storytelling. The original artwork is now proudly displayed in the foyer of the main reception at the Ridgeway Campus, with digital prints soon to be installed in the receptions of our other campuses. You may have already seen elements of Coree’s design featured in the new campus signage recently installed.
From today, Coree’s artwork will also be incorporated into our school email signature and the School's presentation template. The artwork will also be used for the 2026 diary. This update ensures that the visual language we use in our daily communications aligns more closely with the land we are on and the relationships we continue to foster with Wurundjeri community members.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to reflect on, and grow in, our shared reconciliation commitments.
