Room 2

Foundation - Year 2

Learning isn’t always easy, and it’s easy to forget just how challenging it can be in the early years of primary school. As adults and older students, we may overlook the fact that our junior learners are encountering so many things for the very first time, recognising letters and their sounds, understanding numbers and their values, and reading and writing words they’ve never seen before. It’s a big task, and it can be tricky, but it’s also a vital and exciting stage of learning.

At Cowwarr, we believe in the idea of taking it slow to go fast. While it may take some time for students to write sentences or read new words, we are focused on building a strong foundation. This hard work now will help make learning easier and faster for them in the future. We’re proud of the effort our students are putting in!

Whether we’re focusing on the correct formation of numbers and letters, writing sentences that express our own ideas, or sharing our thinking during number talks, we are putting in the effort and working hard.

This week, we took a refreshing break from the classroom and enjoyed a scenic walk around our wonderful hometown of Cowwarr! We had a blast taking in the sights from the river and towering trees to tossing rocks off the bridge to see who could make the biggest splash! Afterward, we had some fun at the local park, recharged and ready for the next adventure. It was the perfect way to reset and appreciate the beauty around us.
