TERM 2, Week 4
Term 2 is well under way and the learning of all our wonderful Preps continues to make us proud!
Our take home reading system this term seems to be running well and we are appreciating the comments each night in the diaries about your child's responses or strategies they have used in their reading.
Our Religion/Inquiry topic this term is 'Wonder'. We have gone outside and used our senses to observe the beauty and wonder in nature. We have looked at the beauty and wonder in people and in man made buildings or constructions.
This week, Sarah and Jill from Bunnings came and set up 3 worm farms with us. We aim to use our fruit scraps as food for the worms so the compost they produce can be used on some planter boxes that we will get up and running.
Next week, Maybelle's grandmother is coming to talk to us about Beekeeping. We are excited to learn all about the bees' honey making process. Another example of the amazing wonders of nature!
In maths we have been doing some great learning in number. We have learnt about the part-part-whole concept of addition. We are getting more and more confident with it.
We are continuing to learn more about the letters and the phonemes they make. We are using the skill of segmenting to help us spell CVC words, and the skill of blending to read CVC words.
As you can see, some amazing learning has taken place!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
