Captains Corner

By Eliana 6F

Hello everyone and welcome to this fortnight’s captain corner of the newsletter. Hope everyone is having a great start for Term 2. This week is filled with many exciting events happening.

But before we dig deep into this week, I would like to take a moment to appreciate all the mothers and carers who did or didn’t celebrate Mother’s Day. I am sure that last Sunday was filled with many smiles on mums’ faces. Also a big shout out to the wonderful mothers who volunteered to help with the Mother’s Day stall. We must have raised a lot!

This Monday we had our Year 4,5 and 6 District cross country team compete against other schools. Many students have achieved great success and for those who didn’t come home with a ribbon, just know that you still have made through a challenging journey.

Our Year 1s will be getting their class pets! They will be learning more about their pets, their habitats and adaptation. This seems like an interesting way to kick off into their inquiry unit.

Our year 5s will be going on an excursion to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens. They will be transferring their knowledge of their learning about the thriving of flora and fauna by observing many different species of plants and animals. Hope we get some pictures to see!

Last but not least, the Year 6 Stand Up Project leaders will be working together, to teach not only students but also our teachers and parents. Now you may be wondering what the Stand-Up Project is. Let me explain in simple words, it is a program that teaches students how to react to bullying and harming situations. Our year sixes will be taking the initiative to teach students about bullying and how it affects them and their health. We will also provide resources to support them through these challenges! Hope to see parents there!

Thank you for taking your time to read this part of the newsletter. We can’t wait for Pyjama Day and all the fun events that will be coming up.

Kind regards,

Your 2025 school captain, Eliana
