Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features the conclusion from a narrative written by Devin (Year 5) - I trust everyone’s enjoy it just as much as I have!

Together, they sat by the window, watching the lightning dance across the sky. And as the storm slowly subsided, Jack knew that this night, once filled with fear, had become a testament to the kindness found in the most unexpected encounters. The child's presence had changed the feeling of the house, turning it from a place of tension into one of comfort and understanding. Jack was amazed at how quickly things had shifted, reminding him that sometimes, the strongest friendships are made in moments of being open.

As they talked, the children shared stories of their adventures and dreams, each one showing strength and hope. Jack listened carefully, cheering them on and laughing, feeling his own worries get lighter with each passing moment.

The rain eventually became a gentle patter, and the clouds started to clear, showing a sky full of stars. Jack looked at the child, who was now sleeping peacefully on the couch, their cocoa cup resting in their lap. He couldn't help but smile at the calm scene in front of him.

Quietly, Jack got a pillow and put it under the child's head, making sure they were comfortable. He then sat in an armchair, happy to watch over his unexpected guest as the night went on.

In the quiet, Jack thought about the day. The storm had brought fear and uncertainty, but it had also reminded him that every challenge holds the chance for kindness and friendship. As he sat there, surrounded by the gentle sounds of the night, Jack felt grateful for the unexpected guests who touch our lives and the warmth of human kindness that can shine through even the darkest times.

Wow, what a thoughtful and engaging conclusion Devin – well done and keep up the outstanding learning!
