Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Following a well-deserved Easter break, our school community has returned with renewed energy and focus. I hope you all feel rejuvenated after a wonderful term break, filled with fantastic memories with loved ones, especially during the Easter Long Weekend.
As we step into Term 2 with anticipation and energy, I extend a warm welcome back to each one of you. This term promises to be significant, marked by various key events inclusive of camps, excursions, interschool sport, extracurricular activities and senior school mid-year exams including the General Achievement Test (GAT).
We are excited to support four of our Year 9 students who will be attending the Alpine Leadership School in Term 2, Sebastian Langworthy Elijah Amos, Joseph Simpson & Phoebe Englefield. This unique opportunity will challenge them to grow in resilience and leadership, and we look forward to hearing about their development.
We commenced the term on a positive note with a high level of enthusiasm and dedication from both students and staff. A highlight has been the recent Tertiary Trip to Adelaide, South Australia, where many of our Year 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to explore tertiary education pathways and learn about the wide range of courses and career opportunities available to them.
I am pleased to acknowledge the exemplary leadership demonstrated by our student leaders during the whole-school assembly on Monday, April 28th, where we commemorated ANZAC Day. College Captains Jamaine and Raya, along with our student leadership team, orchestrated a memorable assembly, paying tribute to the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. Additionally, Jamaine and Raya represented our college admirably at the ANZAC Day Service at Barclay Square, Red Cliffs.
Looking ahead, on Wednesday, 7th May, we are hosting our Annual Grade 7 Information Evening, coupled with a Sports Academy Information Session. The evening kicks off at 5:30pm, offering prospective Year 7 students and their families an opportunity to tour the school, meet future teachers, and gain insights into the exciting curriculum awaiting them in 2026. The Sports Academy component will follow at 7:00pm in the Activity Centre, where interested students can interact with coaches and learn more about our Sports Academy Program. 2026 Sports Academy Applications will be available on the night.
As we dive into the remainder of Term 2, I would like to thank all families and community members for their ongoing support. Let us continue to embrace learning opportunities, celebrate achievements, and support one another in our educational journey.
Mr. Brad Vallance
Assistant Principal
