Year 5 Beauty and The Beast Excursion

The ‘Beauty & the Beast Musical’ was really good. We liked how the actions, music, and singing were jaw dropping and they did very well. The whole year level thought the production was excellent and everyone enjoyed how they all worked together perfectly. 

The band really joined in and the tune really caught our attention when it started playing. 

The stage crew were super silent and speedy too when taking the props in and out. The props looked like they were actually real. It would’ve been better if they added the side character credits, but it was still breathtaking. We hope that one day we will be able to see another one of their magnificent productions. We know that everybody practised very hard for the production.

The Beauty and the Beast, presented by Avila and Mazenod, was a delight to watch. With funny jokes, heart-breaking scenes and impressive singing, nobody dared to take their eyes off the stage.

When we arrived at the theatre by bus, we were led to the Alexander Theatre along with five other schools that were also invited to watch the musical. We watched the first half of Beauty and the Beast, followed by an intermission, giving us the pleasure to eat our lunch and discuss the play in the spacious shelter of Monash University. We returned to the theatre to enjoy the second half, which lasted the same amount of time (an hour) and was just as excellent.

The astounding voices of the singers, combined with the amazing props and costumes, gave the performance what it needed to captivate our attention and make it a memorable experience for everyone attending. The musical scenes left everyone immensely impressed and amazed by how much effort had been put into practising and creating the sets and costumes.

From the dimming of the lights at the start to the final bows, we thoroughly enjoyed Beauty and the Beast and hope that it will be just as much of a success for the following nights that it is performed. We greatly appreciate being able to be the very first audience to experience The Beauty and the Beast musical live! Thank you, Avila and Mazenod! This will be an excursion that we will never forget.
