Year 3&4 Swimming Program

In Term 3, the year 4s and 3s went on a trip to Swim World. The program went for 8 days and it started on Wednesday.
On Wednesday after the fun bus ride, we made it to Swim World! We got changed and went straight to our groups. The swimming lessons were so fun and our teachers were the best. They were so kind and it felt so nice to jump in the water with our friends during school time.
Once the swimming lessons were finished, we would get changed as quickly as we could because the person who comes out of the change room first would get two house points. After we got changed, we sat in the waiting room waiting for the year 3s to finish their lesson.
On Thursday, it was Water Safety Day! We had the chance to jump in the pool with our clothes on! It was kind of hard to swim because my clothes were so heavy and I was sinking a little bit.
After all, it was so fun and exciting to do. Going swimming with my friends made the trip even better and everyone else we met. I loved jumping in the pool with my clothes on and I would definitely do it again!

For the past two weeks, 4AA and 3TR went to Swimworld for our swimming program. We caught a bus to Swimworld every day, and when we got there, we had to wait for 3TR to finish swimming. While we waited, we read books and played games.
When it was our turn, we got into the groups our swimming instructors had organised. There were about seven or eight people in each group. Each day we swapped swimming instructors, so we got to learn different skills from different teachers.
One day, we wore old clothes over our swimmers for Water Safety Week. The clothes became very heavy in the water, but it helped us learn what it would be like if we accidentally fell into the water while wearing clothes.
On our last day, we played games in the pool. We spent half the lesson swimming and the other half playing fun games. It was really exciting!
The most challenging part was waiting for 3TR to finish because we were the second group to swim. Even though we had to wait, our swimming excursion was really fun, and we all enjoyed learning new swimming and water safety skills.

On the 15th of July to the 24th of July we participated in swimming lessons at SwimWorld. We learnt about pool safety, how to float in water, rescue techniques, life jackets and how to get out of situations while wearing heavy clothing. My favourite part was playing games and jumping in the pool with my friends on the last day. I learnt how to swim on my front and back. I also learnt how to float and tread water.

Last week our class took part in a swimming program. I was excited and worried because it was my first time in the swimming pool. First we went on the bus. It was a short ride. When we got in the pool the teachers told us to float on a board, it felt kind of weird but fun. My favourite part was jumping in the water with a life jacket. At the end I felt happy and more confident.

Last week I did this amazing swimming program. I really liked jumping in the water. My teacher's name was Sandy. She was really nice. We learnt survival backstroke, front stroke and we went on the back of this big turtle floaty. We had to doggy paddle all the way to Sandy and back. We had to pass it to our teammates. My teammates were Leila, Izabela and me. In the end it was really fun!

Last week, my class went to Swimworld with the year fours. When we went into the pool, we practised our water safety rules.
Firstly, we did some kicking on the front. Then we did some freestyle and continued with survival backstroke all the way to the deep end.
Secondly, we did treadin water. This was my favourite because it was easy for me. We did some jumping and pindrops as well.
Finally, we played some games and some races. In the first race, I was against Leo in freestyle. I did a good drive and won the race. In my second race, I was competing against Aiden in backstroke but I kept hitting the lane rope, so Aiden won.
I had a wonderful time at Swimworld and I can't wait to go there again.

Last week my class and I went to Swimworld to learn to swim.
First of all, we hopped on the bus and I sat next to Ruvie. When we arrived, 4AT went straight to the changing and their swim lesson. While 4AT swam, my class and I did something quiet (loud, actually!)
When 4AT finished our class went to the change rooms . Then we lined up where our level was. I was in level 3,, so as soon as I took my sports uniform off I went there. We sat on the chairs and our swim teacher came. He introduced himself to us and his name was Terry but he let us call him any type of berry. When we were going to get in, Terry the Berry sait to do a 'twist and slide'. after we did that we got straight into freestyle and then backstroke.
On Thursday, it was water safety day. As soon as I hopped in, the clothes I was wearing just got stuck to me but I still had a wonderful time. WE did all types of rescues and dives.
I can't wait to go next time!!!
