2024 Swimming Carnival

Our 2024 Swimming Carnival is tomorrow, Friday 16th February, 2024. This event requires online consent/permission. If your child has not be given permission we ask that you please decline the event. No child without permission will be able to attend the swimming carnival.

It will be a daytime Swimming Carnival at Tamworth Swimming Pool (Kable Avenue, Cnr Bridge St)commencing at approximately 9:30am and finishing at approximately 2:00pm.

All Primary children will travel to the carnival by bus and arrive at the pool at 9:10am under the supervision of teachers. At the conclusion of the carnival, all students will travel back to school for their regular way of transport home. Parents of Infants children who are attending the Carnival are asked to organise transport to and from the pool or alternatively to and from the primary school campus to allow 8yr old infants swimmers to be bussed with Year 3 classes.

Please note the St Ed’s School Canteen WILL ONLY be operating on Friday 16th February, 2024  for INFANTS STUDENTS ONLY.

On Friday 16th February children will need to:

*Wear their full sports uniform including school hat

*Bring enough food and water to last through the Swimming Carnival

*Bring their swimming bag to school with swimmers, sunscreen, towel, goggles etc. Children will change at school.

Online Permission and Swimming Assessment

*No child will be allowed access to the pool at the Swimming Carnival without a completed evaluation of their swimming ability and submitted by his/her Parent/Carer. This will allow the children to go in the corresponding events at the carnival.

There will be limited non swimming events at the carnival this year due to the town’s pool not having a large “little” pool. I strongly encourage you to put your child in the 25m events if they are capable of doing so to avoid sitting around and watching all day. This will also allow your child to cool off and gain house points for their house.

OzTag

Last weekend Baylen Etheridge and Lukas Lambert travelled down to Sydney to compete in the NSW State OzTag Cup.  On Saturday they came away with 2 wins and a draw. Facing the toughest completion in their pool on Sunday, they came away with 2 wins and a loss. They finished 2nd in their pool, and advanced to the quarter finals. Unfortunately, they didn't come away with a win in the quarter final. Overall they placed 6th out of the 28 teams competing; with the only two teams to beat them taking on each other in the final.  An absolutely amazing effort by the entire team and these boys showed them what country kids are capable of!  Great work boys, we are proud of your achievements!

2024 Basketball Competition

By now you should have received an email in regards to registration for our St Edward's teams. Please remember that you will also need to register with NSW Basketball (this is an additional registration that lasts for 12 months).

If you haven't received an email yet, please check the spam/junk folder in your email.

Competition starts next week!! Only teams with 7 or more players registered will be able to take the court. Any team that does not have 7 players registered will have a bye that week.
