We have been learning about Retelling a text.
VOCABULARY
Retell:
Explaining what happened in a text. This includes a beginning, middle and end.
Setting: Where the characters are in the text. Eg: the park, school, home.
Characters: The people, animals or creatures in a story.
Problem: Is where something happens to the character/s.
Beginning: The start of the text.
Middle: Where the problem happens in the text.
End: The end of the text.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
Using your books from your blue satchel, or a book from home. Read the text and then have a discussion with an adult about what the text is about.
Remember to include:
Beginning:
Who are the characters?
Where is the setting?
Middle:
What is the problem?
End:
How did the characters fix the problem?
Was it a happy or sad ending?
