A Snapshot of Learning by Prep

We welcome our brand new Prep students to our St Simon’s community, we are truly excited that you are here. St Simon’s is a great place for your child to start their learning journey.

It has been an exciting start to the year with Prep students and teachers getting to know each other through our well thought out lessons. Our classrooms are safe and engaging learning environments where children are valued and encouraged to take risks and have a go. Our highly qualified, caring and dedicated teachers are well equipped to create appropriate learning environments. The Prep teachers are Emily Roleff and Sharon Sanna this year.

Over the next few weeks, the Prep students had been learning about and completing tasks that focused on making connections with other students in their classroom and with their Grade 6 Buddies!  A buddy system is in place to assist the new Prep students to settle into the school routine in a caring and supportive way.

The Prep children have been introduced to their Year 6 buddies. The buddies are available during the first few weeks of Term 1 to assist the Preps with finding friends to play with and generally providing support. They continue this friendship throughout the year and participate in a number of designated ‘buddy’ activities. It has been fantastic to see the children settling into classroom routines and enjoying all aspects of school life thus far!
