From the Principal

Dear BMGS Community,

Welcome back to the Blue Mountains Grammar School! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday break filled with relaxation, adventure, and cherished moments with your loved ones. Seeing our students return to school ready to embark on a new academic year full of learning, growth, and opportunities is fantastic. Our school usually buzzes when we have students on campus, and their return makes the site feel like a learning community again.

Thank you to parents and caregivers for your efforts in preparing for this return - it has been a remarkably positive start to the year. I am pleased to announce that our students started the year with enthusiasm, energy, and a commitment to learning. The staff and I are proud of their approach to their studies and willingness to embrace new challenges. The support from our staff and families continues to be the driving force behind their success, and we enjoy partnering with you in this intent.

A Warm Welcome to New Families

I would like to warmly welcome all the new families who joined our BMGS community this year. We are thrilled to have you as part of our school family and look forward to getting to know you better. We are confident that your journey with us will be a positive one. Please attend one of our social events over the next few weeks.

Changes to Our Newsletter Format

In our continued effort to improve our communication models, I have changed our Newsletter format. Starting this term, we will send newsletters every fortnight, usually on the odd week in the timetable. This adjustment will allow us to provide more comprehensive updates and a deeper insight into the life and direction of our school. We will assess this decision in the middle of the year.

While the primary focus of our Newsletter will continue to be on highlighting what has been happening at BMGS, we will also incorporate a strategic perspective. This means sharing exciting events and achievements and providing insights into the school's strategic direction and vision for the future and how that is being executed.

These changes will help all our stakeholders better understand our school's goals, aspirations, and the steps we are taking to create a vibrant, innovative, and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Sports Ovals at Wentworth Falls

Over the coming weeks, you will notice some work on our sports ovals at Wentworth Falls. After the long stretch of the pandemic and the disruptive weather of 2022, we are doing some remedial work to provide improved facilities for our ISA commitment. We will keep you posted on progress.

Thank you for your continued support in making Blue Mountains Grammar School a place where excellence, community, and a love for learning thrive. Here's to a fantastic year filled with growth, achievements, and cherished memories!

Warm regards,
