Spotlight on STEM

Last week we kicked off the year with another exciting STEM Survivor Challenge. Designed to stimulate problem-solving skills and foster creative thinking, each year level was presented with a different challenge. Guided by the Engineering Design Process, students used a small number of items from the classroom and any resources collected from nature to tackle the following tasks:

Foundation: Build a bridge to cross a body of water

Years 1/2: Make a rope to help with the construction of a shelter or raft

Years 3/4: Construct a shelter that provides protection from rain, wind and sun.

Years 5/6: Develop a water-powered fan.

Teams are enthusiastically rising to the challenge and working diligently. I can’t wait to see their creations!
