New Public Preschool for Boorowa Central School

Boorowa Central School was announced on Tuesday as a site for one of the 100 new public preschools in NSW. The state government has committed to the construction of these new preschools by 2027 and each preschool will then open pending building and regulatory approvals.

Our school was selected based on child development and socioeconomic data, projected demand for preschool, an infrastructure analysis and valuable insights gained through local consultation during the decision making process

Boorowa Central School aims to work in partnership with the Boorowa Early Education Centre (BEE Centre) to provide exceptional pre-school education which is accessible for families of the wider Boorowa Community.

Keep a look out for exciting developments in this space over the next 3 years.

School Community Charter

The School Community Charter outlines the responsibilities of parents, carers, educators and school staff in NSW public schools to ensure our learning environments are collaborative, supportive and cohesive.

The School Community Charter is in place because it is widely supported by research that the best education happens when parents and schools work together.

As outlined in the charter, parents and carers can expect the following when coming to our school:

  • Welcomed to work in partnership to promote student learning
  • Timely, polite and informative communication
  • Professional relationships based on transparency, honesty and mutual respect
  • To be treated fairly

To ensure the wellbeing of the students, staff and community in our schools, steps will be taken to address unacceptable behaviour. This may include restricting contact with the school community or, in more serious cases, referral to the NSW police.

Join the P and C

On March 5, the Boorowa Central School Parents and Citizens (P and C) association will be holding their annual Annual General Meeting (AGM). In this meeting, all roles become vacant and refilled with interested members of the P and C who are in attendance.

The P and C works in partnership with the Principal, as a consultative body, in refinement of initiatives outlined in the schools Strategic Improvement Plan. The P and C also provides representatives for Merit Selection panels used to hire new permanent staff, organises fundraising activities, encourages parent engagement in their child’s education, operates the school’s canteen and much more.

Each meeting is an opportunity to help shape the future directions of the school and to learn more about the happenings of the school each month.

If you are interested in taking on an Executive or Non-executive role, please click on the link below to learn more. If you are interested in joining the P and C, you are most welcome to attend the AGM on March 5.

The P and C meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Boorowa Central School Library at 7pm. All welcome.

Welcome BBQ

It was great to see so many new faces at our welcome BBQ and to share a sausage sandwich or two, whilst playing cricket, with the kids. It is always an enjoyable evening to start the school year on a positive note.

I’m looking forward to a great 2024.
