Year Six 

It was a privilege to welcome our new 2024 Year Six students back to Saltwater College for Term One of a new school year!

We would firstly like to introduce all of the staff in our Year Six team, who will be working with students throughout the year.

All educators involved cannot wait for what is going to be an amazing year! 

These first four weeks, or 'First 20 Days' are so vital for students to gain the skills required to be successful this year. Through the first 20 days, students will look into a variety of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and PYP activities that will set up our year for success! This includes the creation of our class essential agreements! 

Year Six offers students amazing leadership opportunities in the form of House Captains, Junior School Council, First Aid Officers, and more! Students have been working hard on applications, with the teaching team looking to select students in the next few weeks. 

Shortly more information will be coming out about our Year Six Polos with pricing and size requirements. We ask that families return these forms as soon as they get them so we can order the Polo for students to enjoy! 

Finally, we have plenty of amazing events coming up for Year Six including, the running of assemblies, the Beach Program, and Inter-School Summer Sports. Our summer sports, include cricket, volleyball, rounders, softball, basketball, and tennis. Please ensure your child approves those forms as soon as they appear on your Xuno app. 

Applications for our Canberra camp closed last Monday and teachers are making the tough decision to figure out who will be attending. Once teachers have made their decision they will let families know.

Reminders:

• Inter-school trials Monday 12th February.
• Beach Program starting Friday 8th March, for three weeks.
