STAGE 3
5MZ, 5Q, 6L, 6S
Our Stage 3 public speaking class representatives presented their speeches on topics such as words have power, what would I do to change the world, the social media ban and bullying.
They then presented an impromptu speech, with just five minutes to prepare on the topic “Winners and Losers.”
We are so proud of all our talented public speakers and every student who bravely stepped up to share their voice. It takes great courage to speak in front of your peers, and every participant should feel incredibly proud of their efforts!
A huge congratulations to Ayesha, our Stage 3 winner, and Jessica, our runner-up! We wish Ayesha all the best as she represents our school at the next level of competition at William Stimson Public School. A special mention must also go to the class representatives: Alfred, Evie M, Rania, Caleb, Maya, Lathem and Veronica.

Our classes have been diving into the exciting world of 3D shapes and measurement with a special focus on learning about capacity and mass. Students are discovering how to estimate, measure, and compare the capacity of different containers using hands-on activities. They have also been weighing pumpkin and learning to use scales. It’s been a fun and practical way for everyone to build their maths skills while exploring everyday concepts!

Students have been sharpening their sketching skills by drawing a variety of interesting subjects, including animals, chip packets, fruit, chocolate bars, and flowers. This hands-on experience allows them to observe details closely and express their creativity while exploring different textures and shapes. It’s been wonderful to see their artistic talents grow!

Our Year 6 students have been busy crafting powerful poems exploring the theme of freedom and personal identity in their pieces titled "Freedom" and "This Is Me." Through their writing, they’ve expressed their thoughts, feelings, and unique voices, celebrating who they are.

Year 5 students have been creatively exploring their novel study, August and Jones, by producing engaging podcasts. Through this project, they have developed their storytelling, speaking, and teamwork skills as they discuss characters, plot, and themes from the book. It’s been exciting to hear their insightful reflections and listen to their unique interpretations brought to life through audio!

Congratulations to our students for their wonderful behaviour in Term 3. They were rewarded with a Tech Day. Classes participated in Kahoot games, Blooket games, and coded with the Ozobots and Edisons. You may be able to see our new furniture in the photos too!

Our students have been learning about the different levels of government in Australia and the important topic of human rights. To deepen their understanding, they’ve been creating informative posters that highlight how government works and why human rights matter to everyone. This creative project has helped bring history to life while encouraging thoughtful reflection on our society.

Congratulations to some of our Year 6 students for their excellent behaviour at the recent 'Creative Domain Day' at JBHS. Students participated in an art, music and STEM competition. The next day is an 'Intellectual Domain Day'. More information to come.
