STEM this Term has been all about biology and living things for P-4. There has been a good mixture of technology, research, coding, crafting, engineering challenges and experiments.
The Preps have been learning about the habits of living things, how to classify a minibeast over an insect and what the needs are for all living things. We will conclude this work in the end of the Term by looking at plants - and the preps will be planting some seeds to bring home for the holidays. Our big crafting project this Term was crafting a minibeasts over 2 sessions to work on adding finishing detail. I'm very proud of the hard work they put into making their minibeasts and trying to remember facts about them.

The Grade 1-2s started learning about living things, their needs and habitats and how different living things interact within their environment. We also looked at the major organs of the human body and skeletal, muscular, respitory and circulatory system. We used balloons and straws to make interactive models.

The Grade 3-4s used Imovie and Capcut to make movies about the life cycle of animals and completed research about how a food chain is part of a food web. We also looked at predators and prey. The big highlight of the Term was the final of the Annual Sphero Race (some examples show of the 'floats' used to cover the Sphero robots)

Congratulations to Hamoudy from 3-4 D who won the grand final in a very close race.
