from the Wellbeing Assistant Principal's

We (Anita Calore and Tim Brown) have both started this week as Acting Assistant Principal’s. Our roles include wellbeing and inclusion. We have enjoyed getting to know many people from the Meadows community already and know this will continue. If you have any questions or concerns, we can help with please contact the school and ask to speak to one or both of us.
Here is a little bit more about who we are…
Anita- I’m an experienced teacher and have recently worked with the Department of Education supporting schools, including Meadows Primary School, to implement Disability Inclusion, which now replaces the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD). I’ve had the privilege of working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) students and refugee background learners and families across Victoria. In my role, I’ll be working closely with the Education Support Team, Teachers, and the Wellbeing Team, to understand and support the learning and wellbeing needs of all our students. I’ll also be leading the enrolment and transition of new Kindergarten to Foundation students and I Iook forward to welcoming our newest families and learners to the school community. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going for walks, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Tim- I have worked in education since 2011. I have always had a passion for wellbeing with a background in social work before studying my master’s in teaching. I live on a rural property with my wife and six children. I love sports and most things to do with water. I look forward to working at Meadows this term and getting to know the students, families and teachers of this great school community.
What is Wellbeing and Inclusion?
At Meadows Primary School, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported each day at school. Wellbeing and inclusion is about creating a positive learning environment and school community where everyone can thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally.
We know that wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. When students feel connected and confident, they are more engaged and ready to learn. By celebrating diversity and supporting individual needs, we’re helping every child reach their potential.
Parents and carers play a vital role too — by talking about feelings, encouraging empathy, and helping children build positive friendships at home and school.
Together, we can continue to make Meadows Primary School a place where everyone belongs, everyone is safe and every voice matters.
