Monday Assemblies, Our School Wide Ways and Rhythms

At DCS Primary, our weekly rhythms help shape a strong and caring school culture. One of the most important of these is our Monday morning assembly, where we gather as a community to reflect, learn, and grow together.

Throughout 2025, we have focused on one of our School Wide Ways - Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, Be a Learner, and Be a Blessing. These values guide how we interact with one another and how we grow as learners and people of character.

Over the next few weeks, our focus will be on Be Safe. This includes physical safety, emotional wellbeing, and creating a school environment where everyone feels secure and cared for. Whether it’s walking calmly through the playground, using kind and thoughtful words, or helping someone who needs support, our students are learning that safety is something we all contribute to.

We encourage families to continue these conversations at home. You might ask your child:

• How do you help others feel safe at school?

• What does being safe look like in your classroom or playground?

As a community of faith, we also want to be a community of prayer. Next week, our Year 6 students will be travelling to Canberra for their major excursion. It’s a time of learning, adventure, and connection. We invite you to join us in praying for their safety, joy, and meaningful experiences as they explore our nation’s capital.

As we move further into the term, our assemblies will begin to turn toward the message of Christmas. Through stories, students will explore the heart of the season—God’s love and the hope that He brings. These moments will help students understand the deeper meaning of Christmas and how they can share joy and kindness with others in their homes, classrooms, and community.

We look forward to continuing this journey together—celebrating character, growing in faith, and preparing our hearts for the joy of Christmas.
