Year 3 Spotlight

During our inquiry unit ‘Nurture Nature’ students have been learning that life is a balance of systems. We are inquiring into how Australian ecosystems function and exploring the ways in which change can impact these interconnected systems.
On the first Wednesday of Term 4, students arrived at school to a surprise, their classrooms had been transformed into three Australian ecosystems: bushland, rainforest and ocean. They explored the unique conditions of each environment and investigated the plants and animals that live within them.
On Friday, 17th October, the Year 3s visited Werribee Zoo. During the excursion, they took part in an educational program focused on learning about the features that help animals survive in their natural habitats. Students then enjoyed exploring the zoo and taking part in the popular safari bus tour!
