Introducing our CSPS Social Worker - Kaela

Hello everyone,
My name is Kaela Grummisch, and I’m so excited to be joining the school community as the new School Social Worker. I have many years of experience working with children in a variety of settings and am incredibly passionate about supporting their wellbeing — helping them feel heard, valued, and confident both in and out of the classroom.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to support children through different wellbeing and social programs, provide play-based support, art therapy, and work alongside families and educators to help young people build resilience and positive connections in their school environment.
In my role here, I’ll be working closely with teachers, students, and families to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing. My approach is child-centred, strengths-based, and collaborative — meaning I aim to work in partnership with families to ensure each child feels safe, supported, and understood.
If you would like your child to receive support from me, a referral will need to be made through your child’s classroom teacher. Once the referral has been processed, consent forms will need to be signed by both the parent/guardian and the child before sessions can begin.
My office is located in the Senior Learning Centre, tucked in next to the Senior Library.
A Little About Me
Outside of work, I love staying active and creative. I enjoy playing basketball, listening to and playing music, and spending quiet time reading. I absolutely love summer and the beach, and my favourite animal is the whale shark — I’ve even been lucky enough to swim with one!
I share my home with two adorable cats, Rocket and Chopper, who keep me endlessly entertained. Alongside my role at the school, I also work three days a week at headspace as a Mental Health Youth Worker, supporting young people in the community.
I’m truly excited and passionate about being part of this school, and I’m looking forward to getting to know all the students, staff, and families!
Warm regards,
Kaela Grummisch
School Social Worker
