Curriculum & Data

"Curriculum should help children make deeper and fuller understanding of their own experience."

—  Lilian Katz

As we cross the halfway mark of the HSC examinations, there's a palpable mix of concentration and anticipation in the air. We are incredibly proud of our Year 12 students for their hard work and dedication. Please continue to support them as they approach the final stretch of their assessments. We look forward to seeing their results which are due to be released on Thursday 18 December.

Meanwhile, the focus shifts to our younger cohorts as they prepare for their end-of-year assessments:

  • Year 9 exams will commence in Week 5
  • Our Year 11 students (the HSC Class of 2026) are also preparing, for their first major internal assessments of the new HSC course starting in Week 6

Effective Study Strategies for Success:

To help all students navigate this busy period successfully, we encourage the use of proven study techniques:

  • Active Recall: Instead of simply re-reading notes, practice retrieving information from memory using flashcards or by answering practice questions without looking at the text. This strengthens memory pathways.
  • Spaced Repetition: Spread out study sessions over time rather than cramming. Reviewing material a day or two later is more effective than reviewing it immediately.
  • The Pomodoro Technique: Work in focused, short bursts (e.g. 25 minutes) followed by a short break (e.g. 5 minutes). This helps maintain concentration and prevents burnout.

Encourage your daughter to develop a balanced study timetable, incorporating these techniques along with adequate rest. Success in these exams builds a strong foundation for future learning.
