Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features a piece from Farhan (Year 4) as he learnt the skill of using tempered (time order) and cause (cause and effect) to clearly sequence and connect ideas in an explanation text.

I trust you enjoy it just as much as I have:

Why do we do bushwalking?

That’s a good question. Bushwalking is a life skill you might need for later.

Bushwalking is fun, scary and sometimes even relaxing or boring. The good thing about bushwalking is you can learn new stuff about animals and insects. You might see strangers or just stay with your group or guardian.

The reason why I wrote it is a life skill, is because if you get lost, don’t walk away, just shout help! Next time listen to your guardian and stay with them.

At last, make sure you have all the things you need. If you see wood that is moving, don’t touch it because it could be a snake. If you do anything to it, it could bite you.

Bushwalking is a fun thing to do but if you listen to your guardian or teacher, you will have even more fun!
