6F

By Jonathon Pereira

This term, the wonderful students of 6F have started to reflect on their own and unique learning journeys. Within speech writing, students have explored how personal experiences, passions, and values can shape the messages they share with an audience.

Students began by analysing examples of powerful speeches, identifying persuasive techniques and emotional language that help speakers connect with listeners.

They then brainstormed themes that were meaningful to them, including: Friendship, Learning, Overcoming Challenges, Resilience, Memories and Gratitude. Our class discussions have sparked meaningful conversations about how literary devices can influence the meaning of our message but also the audience’s interpretation. This exploration has encouraged students to think critically and connect personally when creating their own speeches.

As they planned, drafted and rehearsed their own speeches, students learned how to structure their ideas clearly, use expressive language, and speak with confidence. It has been inspiring to see each student’s individuality and creativity shine through their words.
