Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Term 4 has started really well, with a lot of upcoming celebrations and events happening over the next few weeks. It’s great to see the weather turn with some nice sunshine and warmer weather approaching.

On Wednesday, 22nd October, at our Whole School Assembly, we will take the opportunity to honour our Year 12 students as they prepare to begin their final exams. This is a time to celebrate their hard work, resilience, and achievements, and to reflect on the journeys they have taken throughout their time at Red Cliffs Secondary College.

During the assembly, we will also introduce our 2026 Student Leadership Team, including our College Captains and Student Ambassadors. Our newly appointed 2026 College Captains, Cecelia Sinaki Krishna-Hona and Summer Nalder, will address the student body as they officially accept the mantle from Jamaine and Raya, who have done a wonderful job leading the College throughout 2025.

We look forward to celebrating these important milestones together as a school community.

I am delighted to announce the four students who have been successful in their application to attend the Alpine School for Student Leadership in Term 1, 2026.

The program runs for nine weeks, during which students will live and learn at the Gnurad-Gundidj Campus. As part of the selection process, applicants participated in a formal interview and responded to questions from a panel of three staff members.

We are proud to congratulate the following successful applicants for 2026:

Majella Galvin, Felicity Borlase, Kyle Leonard, Hunter Brand

These students have demonstrated outstanding leadership potential and commitment to personal growth. We wish them every success as they embark on this exciting opportunity.

Our Year 6 Come & Try sessions will begin in Week 6 and continue throughout the remainder of the term. This is a fantastic opportunity for our future Year 7 students to visit Red Cliffs Secondary College and experience the wide range of subjects, programs, and extracurricular activities we have on offer. These sessions play a valuable role in helping our new students feel connected, confident, and excited about their transition into secondary school life.

A friendly reminder that Monday, 3rd November, 2025 is a Professional Practice Day for all staff and will be a student-free day.  This will be followed by the Melbourne Cup public holiday on Tuesday, 4th November, 2025.  Normal classes will resume for all staff and students on Wednesday, 5th November, 2025.

In closing, I would like to once again extend my best wishes to our departing Year 12 students as they prepare for their VCE exams commencing on Tuesday, 28th October, 2025. This marks the culmination of 13 years of education, dedication, and perseverance.  We are incredibly proud of their efforts and resilience throughout their journey at Red Cliffs Secondary College and wish them every success in their final exams and future endeavours.
